Stellenbosch has been called Eikestad — the Town of Oaks — since 1679. Our name, our labels, and our entire brand identity carry the oak as their symbol. Not as decoration, but as a declaration of intent.

The acorn becomes the Surculus — the shoot, the early growth. And the shoot, given time and honest tending, becomes the oak. That is the arc of our brand, and the arc of everything we are building at Stellen Wines.

Stellenbosch benefits from a unique confluence of geography and climate that few wine regions in the world can match. Ancient granite and sandstone soils force vine roots deep, concentrating flavour. Cooling afternoon winds from False Bay preserve freshness and acidity. Long, dry summers ensure reliable ripening.

The result is a region capable of producing everything from precise, mineral Sauvignon Blancs and rich Chenin Blancs to world-class Cabernet Sauvignons, Shiraz, and the uniquely South African Pinotage.
